Endorsement Methodology
Points assigned based on answers that align with Human Dignity Project (THDP)’s values, specifically regarding the candidate’s stance on Palestine to promote peace, humanitarianism, medical care and access, and ability to ‘rise to the moment’.
Example: Niki CONFORTI (GOP) vs Sean CASTEN (Dem) in IL District 6 House Rep:
1. Has the candidate actively approved military funding for Israel?−3 points if YES
2. Has the candidate ever voted to halt military aid to Israel?+5 points if YES
3. Has the candidate modified their position vis-a-vis supporting Israeli genocide after meeting with members of the community?+1 point if YES
4. Do members of the community feel heard by the candidate regarding Palestine?+1 point if YES
5. Has the candidate made public statements (including social media) either condemning Israel’s genocide or suggesting they will not further fund it?up to +2 points if YES
6. Does the candidate receive funding by AIPAC or other pro-Israel groups?−3 points if YES
7. Does Human Dignity Project (THDP) feel that the candidate’s trajectory on Palestine has been positive or negative.−2 to +2 points
